Rob Canning
Rob Canning is not only a network artist but also a composer, his main process is finding a dialogue between
algorithmic system based composition strategies and intuitive/improvised approaches.

His work has been performed and commissioned by ensembles like the London Sinfonietta, the Con Tempo string quartet, the RTE National Chamber Choir of Ireland and Ensemble Concorde plus many more.
Rob gave us some tips on working with some special websites with which components can be broken down to :

- copyleft attitude
- free and open source software
- standards compliant formats
- open hardware
Copyright: Used by an inventor/creator to stop others from reproducing, adapting, or distributing copies of the author’s work.
Copyleft: The main innovations of open source licensing, the use of free media. Copyleft is a word play on Copyright.
"FLOSS + Art" shows us that the value of Free Software lies in the differences and creative challenges, rather than ready-made software, hardware; This allows us to work simpler on a computer, which enable numerous kinds of art and design outcomes.
